I'm Baaaaaaaack!
Hey friends!
It’s been a while,
but Rock The Room We Enter is back and in action! After taking a short musical
hiatus, I am happy to announce that Louis & Lewis (my music act) will be
filling your ears with our sweet, sweet music this Saturday at Casanovas in
Makawao! We’re only performing one set, so make sure you get there early! We
start at 9pm and DJ Kurt will be closing out the night. There is a $5 cover
along with a silent auction (my favorite!) and all proceeds will be going
towards the families of Mo and Charli, the two Maui women who have been missing
since January and the beginning of February, respectively. It’s for a great
cause and your support is greatly needed!
So, what else have
we been up to? Lots! Louis has been über busy mastering the art of Abelton and
staying busy with his never-ending gig schedule and I’ve been nose-deep in
school and working on new music! Phew!
We miss sharing our
music with our friends and family every Monday at Ambrosia Martini Lounge and
hope to be back there again soon! But fear not - beginning March 12th, you can now find us at Dog and Duck every Wednesday from 10pm to 1pm - there’s never a cover and it’s always a
super fun time! Louis and I performed there for about two years (about two
years ago) and had to stop when he was offered a bigger gig, but they had an
opening on a night we’re both available and we jumped at the opportunity!
If you haven’t been
to Dog and Duck, you’re missing out - it’s tucked in the corned of the Barmuda
Triangle in Kihei, they have some of the most beautiful bartenders I’ve ever
laid eyes on, a full bar and the kitchen is open until midnight!
We hope to catch
you there, but don’t worry if you can’t make it- we’ll be streaming live just
like the good ol’ days! I’ll post the live link on our Facebook page and send a
Tweet the morning of the show so you can check in and enjoy our show from the
comfort of your couch!
So, welcome back to
Rock The Room We Enter! Subscribe for updates, new music, live videos,
merchandise giveaways and lots of rocking awesomeness!

Yikes.
Last post in APRIL?! What a slacker, I am. I usually have time at night to browse the inter webs and therefore I have no excuse as to why I have not posted. Sheer laziness. Moving on...
...I have been quite busy! Kanoa and I picked up another weekly gig Tuesday nights at the Hard Rock Cafe (yay!) and I love playing there. I love Kihei, but it's nice to get out of town and meet new people. I'm looking into doing a couple happy hours shows with my friend Chad, too.
I am excitedly planning the final details for my birthday bash on June 24th. Rabbitt & The Propers will be performing at Stella Blues in Kihei! I'm super excited! The theme: think Boogie Nights. Oh yeah. I'm obsessed with the 60's/70's. I sure hope you can make it!
Well, I will definitely make an effort to post more often....Ciao!

Busy as a bee!
I've totally been slacking on my blog! Yikes!
The Jam for Japan benefit was beyond what I could've asked for. We are still collecting money from a few silent auction items, but we've raised about $3500! This all is going to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts in Japan! It was such an amazing night and I have a few people I'd like to thank:
*Scott Johnson at Dogtowne Design for really helping me make this a special night and for always making groovy flyers!
*Marla Johnson for working the silent auction tables
*Trish da Dish from The Weekly Dish on KAOI FM for her help with advertising
*Jen Russo from the Maui Time for beautiful colored ads
*Stephanie Rummans for working the door
and Three's Bar & Grill for providing us with a beautiful venue for live music and good times
Rabbitt and The Propers had a such a good time! And we have lots to look forward to in the coming months. We'll be performing at Record Store Day at Requests on April 16th (time TBA) and I have a lil' something something in the mix for my birthday in June. ; ) I am also now playing at Hard Rock Cafe in Lahaina on Tuesday nights with Kanoa from 7:30 - 10:00pm. Come down and see us!
It looks like I'm well on my way to being a full-time singer. It's all I've ever wanted. :)
In closing, I'll leave you with some pictures from Jam for Japan, the flyer for Record Store Day and the new ad picture for Tuesday nights at Hard Rock!
Have a great day!

Jam For Japan
So, if you don't know already, Rabbitt and The Propers have turned our gig at Three's today (March 25th) into a benefit for Japan. We have such a great lineup and I am so excited! There have been so many amazing people involved in this and I just can't thank them all enough...but I'm gonna try.
Firstly, Scott Johnson has been such an incredible part of this. He has been so generous to share his connections and his time and talent to really get this up and going. He is responsible for the wonderful posters, ads and mentions in Maui Time, South Maui Weekly and Scene in the Maui News. Also, his amazing wife, Marla has volunteered her time to work the silent auction tables.
Trish da Dish has been awesome and had me on her radio show bright and early thing morning. : )
Ellen Peterson and the Kit Kat Club will be opening with some sensuous burlesque and Chino LaForge will be bringing on the comedic relief.
Jaron, from Three's Bar and Grill, has been incredibly generous with time, space and donations as well.
We have received some amazing donations for our silent auction - you can't miss out on this- to mention a few:
4 Piiholo Zipline passes
Private Charter from Redline Charters
Four tickets to Cirque Polynesia
Original Prints from Sean Michael Hower, Jessica Pearl and Jena Fuentes
Soap Baskets from Yummy Soaps
Autographed skate deck from 808 All Day
Tickets for two to Ulalena
Betsey Johnson Swag
Stella Blues
An 8hr Harley Rental from Eagle Rider
AND MUCH MORE!!!
I hope to see you all there tonight! Bring your friends! Show and silent auction starts at 9pm! ALL PROCEEDS RAISED will be going to the Red Cross for relief efforts in Japan.
See ya there, kids!

Tsunami 2011
What craziness has ensued over the previous 24 hours. Earthquake, tsumani, absolute devastation. I know everyone is praying for Japan. We were lucky here in Hawaii that the tsunami damage was minimal. General consensus was that Maui was hit the hardest, although, there were TWO HOMES on the Big Island that were swept away into the ocean! There was some severe flooding on Maui and some damage to homes, but no floating houses.
Rabbitt and The Propers will be performing at Three's on Friday, March 25th and, while we will not be charging a cover, we will have a donation box at the front door and on stage. All donations will go to the Red Cross as a donation to help families in Japan. Please come and show your support!
On a brighter note, mark your calendars. June 24th. Something big is happening. ; )

Appréciez Votre Vie
So, I just realized that I am getting old....er. Whatever. It's my Friday, with a three day weekend in the lineup and I was watching Gomega play at Diamonds Ice Bar and voila! I realized that I'm sleepy and I want to go home. The old me would have manned-up and had a shot of something and partied the night away. Not me now. I know that there will be another party; probably tomorrow night. So, I'm not missing much. So, honey I am home.
Anywho. I went to Tiki Lounge last night to listen to Kanoa and Ryan play some melodies and had some delightful company. First, Miss Trish Da Dish stopped in for a hot minute to shoot the shit with me. We chatted about some upcoming projects with Rabbitt and The Propers. Excited!
Then, my old roommate (Brandy) and upstairs neighbor (Adam) stopped in. They were both in an extremely serious car accident last month and are still bandaged and healing. I send them lots of good juju.
Then, some older guy sat at the table next to me. Reeking of Jack Nicholson familiarity, he told me I looked like Mariah Carey. I was instantly offended because I assumed he meant the pregnant Mariah. Which reminds me - I need to go to the gym. Now, I've encountered many a drunk man - especially in the Triangle, and I have always passed judgement. You do it too, I'm sure. The kinda-drunk older guy by himself. Probably a perv. Keeps on talking and laughing. Creeper. Well, last night changed my mind.
Kanoa and Ryan took a break and we all headed out to smoke. Well, they smoked, I just watched. And "Jack" came out too (his real name is Louie, but I like Jack). We were talking about where he was from (Canada) and who he was here with (alone) and how long (until Thursday) and how bad smoking is for you (very) and he told me that he had Stage 4 prostate cancer. He was diagnosed earlier last year and went through chemo and radiation. It didn't work and he said "fuck it - I'm just going to enjoy my life". I hadn't noticed the sparse eyebrows and thinned hair (from the chemo) until that point. It truly made me re-think the way I see people. It's SUCH a cliche, but never judge a book by it's cover. I thought Jack was a creeper and it ended up that he was just enjoying what he had left. His life. Regardless how short or long that may be. I personally am hoping for the latter.
He left before I got a chance to say goodbye. I did tell him that Kanoa and I are singing at Dog and Duck on Wednesday so maybe he'll show up. I'd love to sit and have a drink with him and enjoy life.
So, for my new friend, Jack (in French):
Appréciez votre vie.
Enjoy your life.
